Bernie Sanders, Proud Gay Rights Activist and Basher of Homophobic Legislators, Introduced at Campaign Rally to Song Slandering Gay Men

It’s May, and despite the fact that Sanders appears to have lost far too much ground to Hillary Clinton to make a serious run for the Oval Office in November, the Vermont senator is still campaigning. He was in Lancaster on, California on May 25th speaking at another rally packed with thousands of his avid fans. Sanders did not disappoint, and he strolled up to the podium with quite interesting entrance music blasting over the PA. What was the song? Try DMX‘s “Where The Hood At.”

The irony of this is revolting. Bernie Sanders, known for supporting gay rights and calling out “homophobic” legislators, was introduced at a campaign rally to DMX’s “Where The Hood At”. Allow me to provide the lyrics from the first verse of the song, in case you’re not familiar:

Man, cats don’t know what it’s gonna be
Fuckin with a nigga like me, D-to-the-M-to-the-X
Last I heard, y’all niggas was havin sex, with the same sex
I show no love, to homo thugs
Empty out, reload and throw more slugs
How you gonna explain fucking a man?
Even if we squashed the beef, I ain’t touching ya hand
I don’t bunk with chumps, for those who been to jail
That’s the cat with the Kool-Aid on his lips and pumps
I don’t fuck with niggas that think they broads
Only know how to be one way, that’s the dog
I know how to get down, know how to bite
Bark very little, but I know how to fight
I know how to chase a cat up in the tree
Man, I give y’all niggas the b’iness for fucking with me, is you crazy?!

The whole verse is almost entirely DMX slandering gay men and transgenders. If that doesn’t make him cringe and think twice about his intro songs, I don’t know what will. I’m waiting for the Sanders campaign to issue an apology, but I’m not holding my breath.

Since Jezebel and other progressive outlets had so much to say about Trump’s crappy intro song at one of his rallies (and to be fair, that intro really was complete crap), I’m expecting to hear them come out and absolutely obliterate Bernie Sanders for allowing himself to be introduced to a song with such pronounced “homophobia.” Once again, I’m not holding my breath – they probably wouldn’t write about it even if this were e-emailed directly to their inbox.

Editor’s note: Bernie Sanders is a crazy, senile old coot. He has no clue what’s really going on.

UPDATE: Complex and other outlets are implying that Sanders was not on stage for the “full and controversial” segment of the song. If you watch the video, you can clearly see him on stage and raising his hands while the verse I quoted is being played over the rally’s very loud audio system.

UPDATE: Now Bernie supporters are saying the video was fake. While it’s possible it’s a fake there are many videos from different angles. We had to replace the original video with another video showing multiple angles because the first one was deleted by the user that uploaded it. You can download the original video here.
